AFALULA lead - Equestrian Assistant Coach training program Phase A - Design

EquiGlobe Services led the design of a comprehensive Assistant Coach Training Program, developed in collaboration with the Pôle International du Cheval Longines - Deauville, under the technical guidance of Odile Nolet. The program was delivered for the Royal Commission for AlUla and commissioned by AFALULA, with the objective of building local coaching capacity and strengthening the professional standards of equestrian instruction in the region.

The curriculum was structured to provide assistant trainers with both technical competence and pedagogical skills, combining theoretical foundations with extensive practical application around and on the horse. The program establishes a solid pathway toward professionalization while ensuring alignment with international standards and horse welfare principles.

Key Components of Phase A – Program Design:

  • Development of a structured curriculum covering technical riding knowledge, stable management, and horse handling.

  • Integration of theory and hands-on practice to reinforce applied learning.

  • Training methodology modules focused on how to teach, manage groups, and structure lessons.

  • Instruction in guest reception, customer interaction, and professional conduct.

  • Education on horse welfare, safety protocols, and rider protection standards.

  • Establishment of evaluation criteria and certification pathways.

The program will be followed by a delivery and monitoring phase, ensuring quality implementation, continuous assessment, and long-term sustainability of the training framework.
